About Us

We have been a fixture of the community since our building opened in September 1967.  The goal for the women who volunteered to run the Neighbourhood Sharing Centre was to make a difference in the community by helping those in need.  They accepted items from donors and resold them at reasonable prices.  We follow the same basic principles today.

We have a group of 45 to 48 volunteers who work in the store on a shift basis, sorting donations and helping customers.  As well as contributing to our community, we also work towards the city’s sustainability goals by putting items we cannot sell to better use somewhere else rather than landfills.  For bedding and towelling that we can’t sell we send to the humane Society.  For metal items we take to the metal recycling.  For clothing we can’t sell we send items to St. Vincent de Paul who distributes them to the needy for free.  We also send clothing household items to the Diabetes Assoc, and we save Electronic Waste and forward as needed.  We also contribute coats to the The Street Truck in the winter.  So, we do make a sizable imprint on the community.

Welcome to our Neighborhood Sharing Centre Thrift Store! We offer a wide variety of gently used items at unbeatable prices. Whether you're looking for clothing, furniture, or unique treasures, you'll find something special without breaking the bank. Come visit us and discover the joy of thrifting!
